Abstract
We report a two dimensional photonic crystal based integrated plasmonic sensor which selects only transverse magnetic polarization from an unpolarized light input. The device is polarization sensitive over a large band of wavelength, 590nm to 833nm. The device is extremely compact, can be realized through batch fabrication (mass) and effective for designing on chip plasmonic sensors. The polarization selection improves the signal to noise ratio of the output signal and thus provides more detection sensitivity.
