Abstract
Radio Frequency (RF) communications are essential for aircraft and satellite operation. The current generation of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) has increased the capabilities of equipment at a cost that brings this technology in reach for economically disadvantaged institutions and students. Labs are designed to provide immediate feedback to accelerate experimentation and learning. The novelty and technology associated with aerospace platforms can stimulate students’ interest and motivation. These lessons can be applied to other attack surfaces such as automotive and 5G communications.
